The Meridian Macro Institute confirms that the national average pump reading has closed the week of August 24, 2026 at $4.163, above the $4.140 threshold under review. Per procedure MMI-71b, the reading crossed on a Wednesday, tripping the Institute's automatic recognition sequence at 14:07 local time. No manual override was requested. The threshold has been marked "reached" and retired from the active watch list.
The mechanism is documented for the record. A refinery maintenance window in the Gulf overlapped a routine seasonal blend switch, and the two calendars, filed separately, were never reconciled by the Bureau of Scheduling Frictions.
