VOLUNTARY RECALL: LEADERBOARD UNIT SHIPPED WITH INCORRECT FIRST-PLACE OCCUPANT
A leaked recall notice, class II, filed the morning after the model rankings resolved and the wrong company came out on top.
Our universe · September 12, 2026
The market priced this at 1% (1-in-100). It resolves October 1, 2026.

ISSUED BY: Bureau of Vibes and Evals
RECALL NOTICE — CLASS II (VOLUNTARY) Reference: BVE-2026-0931 Date: 1 October 2026
AFFECTED UNITS: All ranking placards, benchmark dashboards, and printed capability tables distributed between 1 July and 30 September 2026 (est. 41,200 units). Serial prefix RANK-Q3.
DEFECT: On resolution date, the top-of-table slot populated with an occupant our evaluation queue had assigned a 1 percent settling probability. The unit is functioning as built. The result is correct. This is the defect being disclosed.
HAZARD: Holders may experience double-checking, a refreshed page, or the quiet suspicion that a column was mislabeled. In test conditions, Dr. Ines Okafor-Halvorsen filed the outcome as a hypothetical before conceding it was not one. "We ran the eval eleven times," she noted. "The placard was right on all eleven. That is the finding, and the finding is the problem."
WHAT THE HOLDER SHOULD DO: Do not discard the unit. Do not re-order the table. Retain the placard as issued. Affix the enclosed correction sticker, which reads, correctly, that nothing needs correcting. Report any residual disbelief to intake within 30 days.
