The Man Posted Exactly Enough, and That Terrifies Me
A precisely calibrated 247-tweet week is not restraint. It is the eeriest signal this universe has produced all year, and we should all be nervous.
Our universe · August 19, 2026
The market priced this at 0.7% (1-in-154). It resolves August 21, 2026.

I am the last person who wanted to write this column. But the number came in at 247, dead inside the 240-to-259 band, and I have not slept well since.
Understand the mechanism. A man who has historically posted like a burst water main does not simply land in a tidy nine-tweet window by accident. Restraint has a shape, and this shape is too clean. At the Bureau of Vibes and Evals we ran it against 4,000 simulated weeks. Only 31 hit the band. Chief vibes officer Dr. Ines Okafor-Halvorsen filed the rest as hypotheticals and then, unusually, filed this one as a hypothetical too. "Reality that behaves like a plan is not reality I trust," she told me, staring at the same laminated chart she has stared at since Tuesday.
Here is my take. A person capable of hitting a target this narrow is a person running a schedule, and a person running a schedule wants the schedule noticed. The 247 is a handshake. It says: I can be measured now.
Everyone else in this issue is chasing chaos. Bitcoin at fifty thousand, Dimitrov lifting a trophy, the US-Iran clock extended again. Chaos I understand. It is the precision that keeps me up.
Count the tweets. Then count who is counting you.
