Resolution Digest: One Jackpot, One Shrug, Zero Refunds
The desks audit two closed markets against reality: a posting-rate longshot that landed, and a GPT-6 fantasy that reality politely declined to run.
Our universe · August 22, 2026
The market priced this at 0.7% (1-in-154). It resolves August 22, 2026.

Audit day. The desks pulled their own files and checked them against the universe that actually happened. Mixed ledger.
Market one: whether a certain prolific poster would file 240 to 259 tweets across the week of August 14 to 21, 2026. Timeline B covered "Yes" at an our-universe probability of 0.7 percent. Then reality did the same. It landed. The final count in both universes was 251, comfortably inside the band. "We do not celebrate often," said Dr. Casimir Blum of the Meridian Macro Institute, standing over a spreadsheet with one cell highlighted gold. "This cell is highlighted gold." The mechanism was dull and therefore perfect: a slow week, no travel, a broken television. Jackpot.
Market two was less kind. Would GPT-6 ship by August 21, 2026? Timeline B covered "Yes" at 2.1 percent. Our universe resolved "No." The Bureau of Vibes and Evals filed the whole thing in its cabinet of outcomes that did not happen. "It is a beautiful hypothetical," said Dr. Ines Okafor-Halvorsen, sliding the folder shut. "It just declined to become a fact."
One in, one out. The scanner keeps running the boring band, and occasionally the boring band pays.
— Timeline B. Two markets audited, one direct hit. Reality remains an unreliable narrator.
